(3018-01-25) Lunch Club
Summary: Lunch meet during the school week.
Date: IC Date
ceres chloe davor

It was a moment between classes. Good thing it wasn't secondary education, with strict time slots for the entire day, but classes in two hour'ish blocks depending on what a student enrolled for. Davor had time now. Between classes, no training either. He was outside the school, on the walkway leading up to the main portal there. Near a railing, he was looking down, with a curiosity of wondering what the crew of Aristarchus was doing, as it seemed everyone had something to do and was going about getting on to doing it. So there he stood looking over the edge. In one hand he was holding something that looked like a glove, a drone control device. It was opened up with wires sticking out, in the palm was some large crystal, a specimen from earth. He was already working on doing what he came do it it seems. Perhaps one of his primary classes was the construction of his first apparatus. Not that it was on his mind, he was just standing in that idle curiosity.

*

A new planet, a new home, Ceres sought out the familiar between blocks of classes and when she approaches Davor she nudges his shoulder with her own. "So.." leaving that much hanging for a moment, she finds an area of the railing to prop a hip against. "What do you think? It's interesting, but nothing like I've considered. Magic in swords? It sounds like fairy tales and stuff." Ceres tosses her head so her hair will go behind a shoulder and looks down at her device on her wrist. "What time is lunch? I lost track of my schedule somewhere." It's programmed in her device, but she's being too lazy to check right now. <English>

Chloe was one of those people with something to do and going about doing it, well sort of. She's decked out in a pure white set of TerraArmor, the helmet tucked underneath her left arm, the utility belt around her waist empty (no need for carrying weapons about the space station). She's just come out of training, headed back to the dormitories when she notices the two on the railing above. She hasn't had much time to socialize outside of her own squad, so she decides to cut to the left, head up to the second level and come around where Ceres and Davor overlook the atrium. She raises her right hand in greeting with a small smile, "Hey there, mind if I interject myself or are you two doing something?" <English>

*

He was distracted to say the least, Davor had his focus on the lower levels. The pure white armor probably a draw in itself, not knowing or realizing where the individual in that suit was destined. Instead he's brought out of wool gathering by Ceres. "What," as if he shouldn't have been lost in the thought to begin with, a little start at her approach. Then a grin for her, "Yeah, its something else. Fairy tales, maybe? I don't know how many of those had, armor like that," he indicates, but its gone for the now, maybe transitioning levels. He lost track of it. "Or drones, or any of this." He looks up, incorporating the entire station with that sweep of a look. "I think its midday, a few hours either way. Just when you have time between classes. I have time we could go." There it is, the armor, "I, don't think so. I mean I don't mind, we're not doing anything just yet?" He looks to his sister, he was proposing lunch, he sort of holds the gauntlet device he's started work on in front of him just a little, some personal space shield that object (socially shielding). <English>

*

Like sisters do, Ceres follows his gaze and grins to see him watching the cute blonde down below. She loses track of her when she transfers the look to her brother, a knowing smile tugging at the corner. "It's really good here, I mean everyone is sort of focused in a single area and the classes fit around you. It's better than I imagined at least." Again, she looks at the OED at her wrist and the smile tilts upwards further. "I love lunch, you know me. I could always eat." Hearing the voice, or the approach, she looks over curiously as the blonde in the white armor approaches. A warm smile goes her way. "Just debating lunch." She voices her brothers thoughts. "Do you have any recommendations?" That asked, she grins, "I'm Ceres. This is Davor." <English>

*

"I'm Chloe." the armored individual responds, letting her hand fall down, "Lunch sounds good, I usually eat with my squad but I think most of them were going to the library to do some studying before the next exam." The smile falters a little bit, and Chloe's face likens to serious very easily when she's sort of just thinking. Then a moment later, "Iunno, I heard the cafe in the station proper serves better stuff sometimes than the cafeteria at the Academy, you guys wanna go check that out?" <English>

*

Listening and nodding alonb with introductions, Davor seems just fine with his sister making that step for them. "We'll make a pact, make sure you never miss a lunch." A pause from the boy, "Or me, don't go without me?" To his sister, she can remind him to eat. Then a nod, "Really, I'm up for it." Going to the station's cafeteria itself. "We're both pretty new," he explains, on her behalf even, "Could be a good time to learn the layout. Is it always this busy?" Then a look between them too, "It's okay to eat outside of squads or even connate and such? No one's going to think it weird?" Either way, he seems on board for the adventure. <English>

*

"It's a busy place here, it looks like. I had no idea there were several of us. That bodes well for the future of us all." Ceres tries to put on a teasing smile but it's all too serious a topic. Instead of lingering on it though, she does try and lighten the moment back to where it was. "It's really nice to meet you, Chloe." Her brother's pact has the smile inching up again. "Well, I can promise to try and never go without you, but you always need reminding to eat and I think that I never stop eating." She falls into step beside Chloe and her brother, if they opt to go to the cafeteria in the station, "I'm good with going there. We've somewhat explored, but mostly the city instead of the school. Titan Square is so awesome." <English>

*

"I admittedly haven't left the station since I got here…" Chloe says a bit bashfully, "Yeah, the place is pretty busy, getting busier all the time as they find more cadets. But no it shouldn't be weird, my squaddies are the ones that said I should go check it out sometime but I'm usually so wrapped up in planning and studying that I just go to the cafeteria because its close." She moves with an ease that suggests she's gotten rather used to the somewhat bulky armor encasing her form, "I'm from Venus, where are you guys from?" She's always looking around, green eyes darting and scanning the environment and she just looks so darned serious when she's not actively smiling. <English>

*

Half a grin, a hint of chuckle at the tease from his sister, nervous a little but good. His sister reminds him of manners, he fumbles to tack on, "Yeah, its nice to meet another student." Walking along, he takes one side and looks in one direction at the other two, slightly behind only to follow and not walk ahead in the wrong direction. "Yeah, been meaning to look around the station and the school, but the city has a lot to offer too." Salian City that is. "Earth, through and true." A small hint of pride, 1000 years ago he might of been in the 'Merica camp. "Venus sounds interesting." He pauses, like more questions, but a step ahead of himself. Instead he leaves it to his sister. <English>

*

"Oh good, I like that then. I was hoping they encouraged mingling with others. I wonder what it's like where the others go, the magic casters." Ceres doesn't know exactly where the other school is. Walking along with them she gives an openly curious look, "Venus! I've never been there. It sounds like fun though. Yeah, we're both from Earth. He's my twin. Or I'm his." The resemblance is very apparent. "You really should get to Salian City, it's really an interesting place. They have a crazy track for the magne bikes." Or whatever they are called, she's a fan, but not a driver. <English>

*

"Really? I used to drive them back on Venus, there was a really neat floating track in Epea." Chloe comments, "Earth huh? I always kind of wondered what the home planet was like, Venus is very… well I only ever traveled among the floating cities I never went to the surface but it very much felt sort of like living in one of those old fairy tales when you found a place to just watch the clouds go by, especially when they would slow the city down and keep it in twilight for days at a time." A little smile comes across her face, perhaps an old pleasant memory.
She seems to know where she's going however, not needing to double check corridors when she takes a turn or stopping to ask anyone for directions, "Almost there, should be anyways…" Something seems to cross her mind but she bites her lowerlip instead as she rounds another bend in a junction. <English>

*

Quiet ponderance from Davor, half as much more said to Ceres, "We should find one of those students, see if they can take us." He doesn't know how the portals work so much, only they're magic. He nods about the track, "Hopefully we can catch a race there." And Chloe admits she used to drive one, "Maybe you could get on the track here?" It was a curious thought that sort of slipped out of him. "I bet it was like a fairy tale, I can't imagine being in the clouds do much, like looking into them and being in them. That beanstalk story, with the cow? Everything is in the clouds." Just to the right scale. As the turn the corner, there it is, the large station cafeteria. Unlike the student one, there are more choices here, more competition even to have a spot in the cafeteria and work as a chef probably. "Now we have to choose one of these too?" He was probably okay with Academy's lunch fare, but more options might not be his thing, that Davor kid. <English>

*

"I can imagine a floating track would be both scary and exciting to watch the bikes on." Ceres gives a shake of her head, just trying to imagine it. "Earth is so incredible," she says with more than a little wonder in her voice. "The ruins are so fun to explore. I've almost wished this school was there so in off time I could keep exploring different areas." Each turn Chloe takes, Ceres follows along, "You used to drive the bikes? It seems like a really expensive thing, but that's pretty awesome. I'd go to a race with you, Dav." Of course she has a nickname for him. Their arrival at the cafeteria has her stomach urging her on with a slight growl. "Soo many choices. I'm so hungry I could eat one of each." A teasing grin. "Or maybe not, but I think we should start with number 1 and work down the list every day." <English>

*

"It is, I was sponsored on a team, no way I coulda afforded it on my own." She grins a little as she steps into line, glancing over the menu, "It was scary but they had safety stuff built into the bikes so if you went off the edge you ejected and hovered in place until the medics could come collect you." She shifts a little bit, glancing around at the other patrons, swapping hands the helmet is being held with as the line progressively marches forward, "That's a good plan, makes it simple that way doesn't it? Or maybe we all order one thing and then share a bit or something?" <English>

*

"I'm good not being in a bike, or anything," not a pilot of any sort himself. Davor considers that thought, "I there is some place that has the races on relay, we could see if they have any of the Venus races somewhere too." Maybe part of the go to the Titan track expedition that was looming just a little. "One each, would be three birds one stone." So to speak, he looks up and along the line. "Maybe after classes tonight, we could go into the city and explore some more?" Either curious or one who just needed to understand their location. "I'm leaning towards the three option, we meet back up," he points to a nearby empty table, "There?" He starts to back away, and if they all agree, he'll go retrieve an option to bring as a sampling of what could be the start of lunch club. Rule one, no one talks about lunch club. <English>

*

"I bet, that's cool you had sponsors and all. Maybe we could all go and catch a race sometime?" Ceres sort of clumps them all together, much as she's done with her twin all her life. At the idea of the different foods she gives a thoughtful look. "That sounds good.. But what if I like what someone else ordered better than what I order?" She grins, watching her brother edge away and nods about the table he had chosen. "Okay, we'll do that, we can knock it all out sooner and find out what we do like." She moves on along towards one of the hot food sections. <English>

*

"Maybe.." She relents, hard to tell if it is lack of enthusiasm for the races or the new companions, but she sidles away to boring town, a sandwich and a bowl of soup. When she arrives back at the table, "I mean it's not that I don't want to go but.. I don't… feel right now focusing on what we're supposed to be doing… iunno… being… this is the best thing I've ever been at anything I guess so…" She shrugs a bit as she plops her helmet on the table next to her plate before sitting down. <English>

*

"Then its a battle for the food," grins Davos going off himself, leaving his sister to ponder keeping her own dish or taking another if she likes it more. Off he goes, finding something hot and inbetween. Some sort of soup and noodle affair. There is certainly a fungal quality to the noodles, not just traditional grain. "Caelus grown, I don't know if that guy translocated by choice or if he's a refugee," he thumbs over to his provider. The guy looks weather worn. Some scarring about his eye, a number of centuries ago he might of had a patch there, thank goodness for medical advances. He sours some at Chloe's words, "Yeah, a job. I'm with you, but if we're going to be at the front of this some day, maybe live now?" While they can. A slight nod lingers agreeing with best thing ever. He's coming into his own. "A bit like you, when you get really focused," assuming she's back that it. <English>

*

Ceres nods about the maybe then heads off and comes back with a plate of fruit and a good sized container of yogurt with granola. And a hot sandwich that promised to have steak with peppers and onions on it. She looks at the other choices as she gets back to the table, sliding into one of the seats and scrunching her nose to what Davor opted for. "Why?" It's a simple question and she starts with opening her sandwich and cutting it into threes. "I understand if you don't want to, you're welcome to if you change your mind though." Lifting her eyes to her brother, she grins, "Yeah, I guess I've taken you on enough of my adventures over time huh?" <English>

*

Chloe likewise cuts her sandwich up as she spots Ceres doing it, then ponders the soup, pursing her lips to the side, "Guess we can just use our own spoons. Or what ever. Never saw the big thing about sharing stuff." A little shrug in one shoulder as she pushes her plate with the basic old ham and provalone with spinach as greenary. She folds her left leg up underneath her rear as she settles in and gets comfortable. <English>

*

Taking the return ponder from his sister, "I heard someone in front of me pointing out an Umbrial patch, like he was stationed there as Planetary Defense for Caelus or something. That bad eye, I don't know if it works, but you'd think they could regrow that somehow." As if he was unnerved by the crazy guy, maybe refugees don't get full services, though they should. Davor just doesn't know, clearly enough for the now. A nod to Chloe, "Our own spoons works." A slight squint, "As in sharing is good, or bad?" As he's not sure which way to take the big thing about sharing stuff. "For us, I guess its natural, just what we do, but I can see why some people are put out by it. Extended circle of personal space, too big a bubble maybe?" He turns his bowl out to let them try first, because once he get's going, they might not want to get a taste in. <English>

*

"I'm fine with what I chose," Ceres offers out with a grin, but still offering out a third of her sandwich to the others. "I'm not really in the mood for soup, but thank you both." Opening her yogurt, she puts some of the cut up fruit in it then sprinkles the granola on top. "You're both free to try this too, before I double dip my spoon." As for her, she picks up her third of the sandwich and takes a bite and by the looks of it, she rather enjoys the taste. "How do you like it?" She looks over her shoulder towards the man from Caelus, if it bothered her brother, she usually paid attention to it. "Something unnerve you about him?" <English>

*

"I'll enjoy it all to myself then," indicates Davor, a little more candor with his sister, sheepish look to Chloe after his comment. A slight grin just the same. He will, however, try her parfait like concotion though, no qualms. He might double dip if not for present company even. He then slurps some soup and nods. "Yeah, maybe just more closer to the war is all with him." Sure, members of Earth went to the war, they died like everyone else, but it was less personal as a number on a holovid, someone directly from the warfront, touched by it as the man serving noodles from Caelus, seemed to get to him a little. Talks drift away from war, and the youth finish their lunch before returning to their respective class schedules at the Academy. <English>
