(3018-02-01) Fries with that Salad?
Summary: Brienna meets Davor, some fries are sampled.
Date: IC Date
brienna davor

There were some areas designated more public than others on the Station and between his elected classes, Davor like to sometimes get out of the school and just watch and observe the normal function of the massive construction in orbit near Titan. There he was now, with large glove like things in his hand, power gloves? Something more than the thin skin of protection some use against cold or, for some, style, they had purpose. Currently in a common area, maybe where some on-board facilities for crew were such as gym, a cafe, an library or areas to relax and spend leisure while living on the station for extended periods of time. Public enough he could be here or was easily overlooked. The gloves in his hand had a panel open and he had been tinkering with some of it, but he's now fallen into ahabit of watching the crew again, seeing how they go about daily routine and life most likely.

"But it's really kind of weird, isn't it dad?" The plaintive voice of a female teenager can be heard mingling with that of an authoritative voice of a deeper, male persuasion. "Depends on your viewpoint, Brie. She should be home soon and things will be normal again." As he tries for reassurance in his voice, the more perceptive teenager regards him dubiously. "I don't know if she's just holding out as long as possible to finish some big breakthrough.." a hesitation before she forges on, "Or if she can't get away for other reasons."
Just then the two come into view. One very tall male cutting an imposing figure in his uniform and one diminutive female wearing a skirt and vest style shirt with a pair of knee high platform sole boots that boost her height a good 3-4 inches, a necklace with a blueish purple liquid inside that says 'Drink Me' and a backpack that's shaped like a coffin on her back. "Now don't you worry about that, Brie, leave that to your mother and I. You go grab you some food and head back to Titan. I've already sent in the reason for your absence from school."
Brie gives an impulsive hug to her dad then turns to head off, unaware of they'd been heard or observed, and even uncaring mostly as she gives a look around to see who all was present. Noting the blonde with the big gloves, she looks curious. He must be an adroit or a cadet, and so she openly observes him. <English>

*

Whatever parts he may have heard, Davor doesn't blurt out or focus on anything to key into what that may have been. Not as the girl parts with her father and turns to leave, presumably to go back to Titan. He does speak up when her father leaves and before she parts though. Glove forgotten on his lap, he looks up from where he sits towards her, questioning, "They give excused absences here?" He is thinking Celestial Academy, which excuse or not, there is probably limted number of absences before grade is affected much like most colleges. There could be a more strict policy as they're recognized as cadets. But that excused absence thing has him curious enough now, what if he'd want a day off to do something and it wouldn't count against grade or performance, would that take such a thing here. His wheels are turning at as he looks at her. IN the moments following his question, there is a double take to notice the long'ish (knee high) boots she's wearing, but he tries to focus on her features. <English>

*

Out of the entirety of the conversation that could have been over heard, that he opts that part to question only has Brienna laughing, not only to herself, but genuine mirth. "I don't go to school here." So that concession may clear up a thing or to, or then again it may only murky the waters and so she explains. "I'm a Phenom," with a grin she wiggles her fingers like she could throw down some magic or something then and there. It may explain her not being in a cadet uniform too. Her hands go back to her sides, "I'm guessing you're an Adroit? An Adroit that's looking for an excused absence?" <English>

*

A slight grin, not sure why she's laughing, but sheepish like he should get it but doesn't. Which just makes Davor more curious as to why. Then she explains, "Oh, Phenom, that explains it." As if, they can get an excuse for anything, but his voice implies he doesn't know and is aimed at teasing at least. Or like he gets it somehow, but then he looks down at the glove and nods. "Yeah, an Adroit. Excused yeah, I mean I could just not go to class, but eventually that cuts into my grade." That sheepish grin returns, knowing he sounds a touch nerdy probably, looking up at her to shrug with that consideration. "Stickler," he says, then explains, "For the rules I mean .. I am." He takes in a breath and releases, "Davor, I'm Davor, and you're skipping some classes today?" <English>

*

Drawn to the grin just because the sheepishness of it, Brienna laughs again, but this time it's mostly to herself. There is no lack of confidence in her, that's apparent. "I'm fairly sure everyone is allowed to be sick sometimes. I know there are some rare days I'm just not feeling it but those days are mostly when the races are in town. I missed the one this past month and haven't missed a day yet. I just needed some dad time before he has to go off ship on some secret mission." She may be exaggerating. She may not be. It's not exactly clear, which is probably her intention. "A stickler for the rules? Well Davor Stickler, I'm Brienna. Or Brie for short, depending on your own preference. And I did skip the afternoon classes. But now I've been ordered to get lunch." <English>

*

Half a grin again, he tilts his head just a hair. Sort of the lost puppy tilt as in following or looking like he's following while being slightly out of the loop. "Ah, gotcha," he intones, realizing a little more at least. "Well, if you're getting lunch up here, the Station cafeteria is way better than the school." That probably doesn't make since, that would be like him being able to just show up in Avalon or at their school. "I mean, I'd show you the school if you were interested," presume much, he said nothing of the sort but that just rolled out, "But, the cafeteria here is way better. Only tried a couple things." Realizing he's talking, a lot, he quiets up just a little, glancing from her to glove, and then off in the direction of the cafeteria. <English>

*

If she was deliberately keeping him half a pace behind in the conversation, the knowing smile she gave him would tell on her. As it is, Brie glances down the corridor and surrounding hull of the ship, a concise nod is given. "Oh, well if you're offering to buy me lunch, I'm completely at your mercy as to where you choose and what you opt to feed me." Turning it around nicely. "Then you could give me the tour of the school you seem eager to show off." As it is, her gaze rakes over his gloved hand. "Do you eat with those things on?" <English>

*

He didn't realize he was offering to buy lunch, but as she says it, he nods. "Sure, I could," as if he almost thought of it himself. A large step for Davor, who by the way he talks might not always be so socially outgoing. "Lets go get something here, then I can show you the school." He slowly starts to stand and grins at the glove, then shakes his head sheepisly again. Knowing it was a tease, he gives a slight chuckle even. "No," as if the obvious needed to be stated. "Its a control for a drone I'm working on. It seems to work, just tuning it I guess." A shrug. "Make it more ready in case they send any of us out again, I want to be more ready this time." He then looks over her way, "Is this your home. I mean Salian City, you're dad is stationed here most of the time?" A round about way of the 'where are you from' curiousity most kids have with each other. <English>

*

"Then it's a date, show me the way." Her dad is stationed there but Brie doesn't go where she isn't allowed to go alone and since she doesn't know where those limits are exactly, she'll go with someone who does know where is allowed. Brienna offers him a smile, not trying to pull one over on him, just a bit of a forceful personality at times. Or a girl who knows what she wants and aims for it? Looks like free lunch is on the agenda for now and he's her company. Watching as he rises, she glances at the glove at the same time that he does. "Maybe you can show me how it works in the commons sometime?" The Albion Commons. "Oh you're one of those sent on the mission? I met one last night. I think he was a bit irritated I didn't remember his name. Or maybe surprised. He's Phenom like me too." She sort of nudges him along by starting to walk towards the smell of food, "I'm from Caelus originally but my mom is doing her scientist stuff there and with the Occupation and all there and with my dad here, we stay with my Gram in Titan for now." <English>

*

"Ah," he says, as if about to question what they were doing, regarding a date it is. Davor lets it ride, or drop, but not without some color to his cheeks. Just a hint. The smile of hers brins more to his features. "Sure, I can show you, its hard to explain I think," he begins, taking the slight nudge to start walking just the same. "Do you stay at the towers, or like with your grandma still?" As if coordinating the showing depends on that, couple with personal interest from the boy certainly. "Oh, Sunny?" That's the other boy as he remembers from that field test. "Yeah, he seems nice, just .. I don't know, confident maybe?" His face sours a little as she says where she is from, not so much that he dislike Caelus so much as he can't imagine any good curiousity due to the occupation and continuing conflict. "Glad you're safe here, hopefully she comes here soon. I don't know, sounds like more evacuations every day these days." A slight admission, he may have heard some of the prior topic between her and her dad, and a spin on politics, he seems to favor CSM withdrawal and defensive unlike the opposition. <English>

*

The color in his cheeks only encourages her and Brienna doesn't mind exploiting it a little. "So is this your first date then?" Ruthless, I tell ya. "I live in a condo down town with my Gram still. My little sister, Mia, and me." A slight roll of her eyes and a grin, "Sunny, that's him. I think I already knew his name but asked him what it was anyway." Walking at his side, her boots don't make a lot of noise, those platform soles of her boots are soft enough for a little silence. "So where are you from that me being from Caelus gives you that expression?" The soured look he'd given and she'd noticed. "Yeah there's more and more evacs. I've seen a lot on the news on the holo at the square, and my dad is pretty honest with me about it. <English>

*

"Yeah, what, no, its …" He fumbles a little on the thought, first date. "Sure," he agrees, as if, had he ever been out with a girl he was interested in, it wasn't called a date, or there was no asking. That or the dates he hoped were dates weren't dates in their eyes. Davor doesn't clarify either. "That's cool, you can just stay in town then probably," no need to move anywhere as far as he knows. He leads a little, taking a couple of turns, learning the layout of the station enough to lead the way, that and smell of food helps. "What, no, its not that I don't like Caelus. I'm from Earth." Hoping to clarify, though some Earth'ers are probably snobs that way, he tries not to sound like one. "I just imagine, its a hard time there, with all that's going on. I couldn't imagine being so far from home if the were invading Earth too, I'd worry about friends back there." A shrug indicates he doesn't know her circumstance but the expression wasn't meant to suggest he didn't like Caelus. "If you're dad is wanting you all here, he probably knows something most of us don't. I think they're trying to spread or something, one was on that ship we went to, it was coming here with those researches and had one of them." Though she probably knows the story well enough about now. <English>

*

The fumbling was cute, totally adorbs and Brienna hooks her thumbs on the straps of her coffin backpack as she walks along beside him. There's no trying to guess as to his previous dates but just as he agrees to it being his first date she smiles over at him with less of a cocky, confident look and studies his expression a moment. "Kind of hard to believe that you've been dateless before." A backhand compliment, sure, but one all the same. "I bet we could stay with my Gram. I mean I share a room with my sister, but she's mostly with Gram, hanging out and getting ice cream and stuff. I've been going to school super early and leaving uber late, trying to get some tutoring in before and after. Maybe more mentoring than tutoring, I guess you'd say. I schedule time with the teachers." Walking where he leads, she lazy grins, "Earth. I heard Earth girls are easy. I'm guessing Earth boys aren't if I'm your first." Date that is! "I do worry about friends there, but mostly about my mom. Everyone could be evacuated if they wanted so there may be little to worry about." <English>

*

"What, yeah, um," stammers Davor as he was caught again by her choice of words. A slight squint here way to see if she's serious or pulling his leg, as he suspects the latter but rolls with it. "Mentoring for now," says Davor curious as to her situation with lots of hours at her school, "Tutoring later maybe. If your sister is always getting ice cream with Gram, take time get some yourself." Just a suggestion. Half a grin on easy, maybe he's heard the same. "Nah, I mean, maybe easy, maybe no one's tried to see if I was." That hint of color again, "I don't know, I'm glad this is the closest I've gotten. I couldn't imagine being that close to them." Even on the mission, he was away from it, but with many more on the same moon as him, or planet, just a shrug. "I think we're supposed to start training together soon, like Phenom and Adroit." By way of conversation, he points up ahead to an opening, a portal to the Cafeteria, "Here we are, you decide?" What they're having, as he's doing the paying part. <English>

*

Again he stumbles or fumbles or even stammers, any and all of it was endearing, just keeping him off kilter a little if she could help it and Brienna gives him a completely guileless look as he squints at her. "I mean I'm being mentored. I'm eager to learn more than I do in classes. So I go extra early, stay extra late." A real go-getter? Maybe. She just gives a grin when he's more evasive about the being easy part, "One day someone will try. That's the day you'll to decide whether you are or not." The grin turns more cheesy, but then he's talking more about school work and after a moment's thought she smirks. "I would totally call dibs on you as a partner but I'm guessing the way they team is through Commorancies. We're not in the same, or even opposite, so I'm guessing that's out."A look to the portal then back to him, "Let's go have some barbecue. And some ice cream." Since he's paying and all. <English>

*

A slight nod, just off kilter enough for now at least, Davor agrees on her getting extra mentoring. "I mean, when more students come next year," he says simply enough, referring to her being a tutor later, but that's moot, she indicated she liked to learn more than what she was getting in class. "I .. someone. I won't decide," he says, but then loses a little color at the thought and shrugs just a hair. "I mean, depends, you know?" He's not after any girl he means, but who knows, the right one, love at first sight or something. He just doesn't truly know and hopes he doesn't come off as easy, or otherwise. "Yeah, I think connate and commorancy at first too, I mean it makes sense. Then again, I don't know know the importance of why we're in those." Half a grin, he chin juts, food, an easy topic and a grin, "But no BBQ ice cream," he tries a joke on for size. "Let's see what they have then." He'll lead in and look around. <English>

*

"Maybe. I just want to learn, not to teach so much." Brienna considers him as he loses some of the color and looks a little concerned for a brief moment. "Yeah it does depend and I'm mostly just teasing you. If I'm making you uncomfortable, I'm sorry." That had never been her intention and certainly he doesn't come off easy at all! And it was too late for the 'at first sight' thing, since they'd already met now! "I'm not sure what the Commorancies are for either, but probably a no on being partners. "No barbecue ice cream? Oh you wound me Davor. You wound me." With a saucy smile she steps through inside with him. <English>

*

"Maybe we could still study on our own too? I mean, I'm curious what it is the Phenoms all do, you know, just cause if they are training us to work more in the field to help fight off the Curselings, that would be good to know." That part is serious. "I'm curious what you all have in your libraries too there in Avalon." The knowledge part makes him curious it seems. Return of sheepish grin, he nods and then shakes his head. "No no, you're good, I was thinking you were teasing, but wasn't sure myself." Awkward social steps there, but truth given at least. "You're not making me uncomfortable, if I felt that bad, I'd have found a reason to get back to class. And you'll have to suffer that wound, no interest in trying barbecue ice cream. Now, maybe on cake, sure, but ice cream, forget'aboot'it." Maybe saying with an accent still exists, he says it. Ordering as they go, he'll try to end up with some pulled pork sandwich, and a shake for his ice cream of choice. <English>

*

"I'm curious about your drones too, really. What they do, how you get them to work. I'm more a water manipulator myself." It doesn't sound too intimidating except the connotations behind it, should one consider them. "I could bring you to Avalon, I'm sure that we'll all be better off working together. I understand the need for separate schools and all but sometimes groups are better, especially some we can learn from." As they get to the ordering part, she pauses to laugh when he jokes about the cake over the ice cream, and that accent he uses. Her own order is chopped brisket with some fries, extra barbecue to dip them in, and a chocolate shake. "This looks delicious. Should we sit here somewhere?" Towards the side where there's no others so close. <English>

*

"Yeah, and not just others like us," he says, "I mean, sure another Adroit might know something about my circuits and all, but I don't know if only knowing machines will help me when it comes to real things." Dealing with Curselings. Davor nods, "I'd like to see what you do with water. It could help me improve my drone even. Its on wheels, needs to be in touch with ground or the floor for it to work for me." Beyond machines he means. They have food, she ponders a place to sit, and he nods, "Sure, after you this time. Ladies first and all that, since its my first date, I suppose I should be proper?" He is being he thinks. "Do you just like summon water, or need water to begin with? Like you carry it with you?" He has no clue how Phenom abilities work, that much is evident. He'll wait for her to sit first before he takes a chair at the table. <English>

*

That was something to ponder. "It'd be really good if I could control water enough to part it for your drone to cross to any of the enemy maybe. I see how one could complement the other there." Taking the offer, Brienna walks over and slides into one fo the seats, leaving room across from her for him, her coffin backpack on the seat beside her as soon as she removes it. A smile given as he mentions it being his first date, glad he was playing along. "I guess pretty much everything.." a pause, "And everyone contains water. The air itself does, I can feel it there, and within me. Within others. A flick to her 'drink me' necklace. "I wear these random labeled necklaces, but truth be told they are all water, some are colored, some aren't, but this way I always have water on me and it makes it fun too." Waiting for him to have a seat for her to cut her sandwich in half and then quarters. BBQ was messy to eat after all! A fry is dredged through some sauce and eaten, then she motions towards them, "Share some fries with me?" She'd ordered them, but is willing to share. <English>

*

"Yeah, compliment and what it does to the drone, to see if I can make it better," he content with the idea it seems and building on hers, "Yah, part it or make it hard enough to drive on." Not meaning ice, but density perhaps. Davor nods, and listens about water, "That's so true, never thought too much about it, but if you somehow control it, or manipulate it, very effective tool." And he looks at the necklace, trinkets with water, he was only speculating, but she affirms that thought. "I bet it would be a good day at the beach with you along." Only thinking water and her abilities, but a slight tinge of color, realizing it could sound like he was being suggestive of seeing her in a bathing suit maybe. "Okay," he grins, reaching for a fry, his sandwich put down. At first he takes a bite too and mmms, then he takes the lid of his own shake, "This isn't too weird is it?" He does it anyway, dips the fry he took a bite from into the shake to eat them together. A slight nod of how good it is, he begins to prepare his sandwhich too. <English>

*

"Hm. I can imagine that would be doable, totally, once I get better control of what I can do. And what I can't do." Limits, she didn't want them but she had them anyway. "I want to control water, badly, but I'm not even sure if the Auratalon have water inside of them. I've never been close enough and I've never read anything saying if they do or don't." It was frustrating though, but she doesn't linger there on those thoughts. "So what is it you're learning here in this school about the drones? And yourself and abilities?" At the tease about the beach, she notices his color and she laughs a little. "Well, I guess you're already looking for a second date. You move really fast." As if she hadn't suggested this being a first one. It was all in good fun. With a dubious look, she watches as he dips the fry in the ice cream and eats it, grinning when he seems to approve. "That's interesting." <English>

*

"I think they have something close at least, they do bled, some part water I imagine." He shrugs though, maybe he's completely wrong. Davor cuts his own sandwhich in half too, just halving it. "Well, its something like a sense for me. I don't have to have a camera in my drone, its sort of like sensing the vibrations and getting an image. They think I could 'see' through walls at some point that way, but its similar to normal vision just a little amplified." That could make sense, or not at all actually. Then she laughs a little, "What, too fast," he says then pauses, "I just. I don't even know if there is a beach here for swimming," cause outside of TerGen, Titan is cold. The lake might be too cold for all he knows. "You should try it," he says, not putting 'second' date behind him so much, but curious what her take is on fry dipped in shake, "We do this a lot on earth." Leave it to them to know junk food specials like this combination. <English>

*

"Interesting.." This time Brienna is talking about the blood and some part water of the Curselings. And the ideas it brings to her mind. Later though, she wanted to hear how he controlled his machine. A slight squint, a nod of approval then an all out smile. "Seeing through walls. You could do reconnaissance without ever leaving the safety of your room." Debating that, she doesn't even consider about the swimming again until he mentions it. "Oh there's an indoor area that's very much like a beach and has tube floating in a large circular pattern. Some tiki thing too, but I've never been to it. There's a pool too, and some golfing. Or miniature golf?" Whether on planet or at one of the leisure resorts, she doesn't clarify. (Cause the player doesn't know!) Coaxed into trying it, she takes a fry.. and she dips it. Into his ice cream! <English>

*

Taking a bite while she intones the interest about the blood of Curselings. "Oh yeah, I could," agrees Davor, just holding a fry ready for dipping for the moment, "Its the range of the glove to the drone for now. It worked ship to ship, we were close enough. But I don't know the full range of it yet, I'll have to test it I think." Or that will come up during his training a tsome point too. He takes a bite, half the fry, considering a second dip. "Oh, that would be just as good. Some mini-golf. Zero gravity mini-golf or the old fashion kind?" He's curious now, and probably is an indoor place somewhere. He's thinking of that very thought and then she steals some of his ice cream, "Hey now, that's valuable shake." He reaches to grab her hand as if to wrestle for the fry. Which might lead to touching, but then him letting go eventually with that realization after a slight struggle for the fry. <English>

*

Eyeing his own fry there had been consideration, but adding insult to injury by eating his fry AND his ice cream.. Brienne dips that fry and lifts it to take it back but her plans are foiled when he takes her wrist and they struggle a little, playfully, before he releases her and she ends up flinging the fry accidentally to the feet of.. her father. She slinks down as she realizes he noticed the fry but not where it came from. "Shhh," she giggles, then when he is distracted, she pushes his hand down, dips his half fry for him and leans over to bite the very end of it with the ice cream.. if she can. It's her goal anyway, and she does it quietly so she doesn't draw her fathers attention. <English>

*

Davor doesn't even notice her father, not until she slinks down and he double takes to see why. He looks more scared, her father is an intimidating figure. Not to mention, military with freinds teaching at the school, if not directly connected to it himself. "Whaaa," he's questioning from her as she shush's him and giggles. Then he ducks down too, to try and not be spotted, even though her father doesn't know him, its the principle of large man and boy with said man's daughter, even if just harmless fun. His hand is taken by her and follows, and she is indeed alllowed to manuever it in a manner where she's taken the bite, or gotten him to give her a bite while holding the fry. He's stooped and forgotten about father for half a moment at least, watching her eat instead. <English>

*

Victory is hers! Maneuvering his hand she does manage to dip it and take the bite, but she had expected resistance and gotten none and so she sort of takes the whole fry and part of one finger! With wide eyes she draws back, chewing the fry dipped in ice cream and grinning at him to keep from looking all bashful! Too bad on the image, that would be. Brie's father salutes someone and they go off towards the line talking, none the wiser of the fry that had almost gotten on his uniform. She giggles and lifts her eyes to his, "I think that was definitely a first date," she teases him. <English>

*

He completely forgets father as she takes the fry and finger. That gets his attention, more than anything else. Sure he's been touched by others, but even if on accident, that was intimate by his standards too. He ends up licking his lips, as if he'd gone a little dry in the mouth due to his own nerves. He doesn't stop looking at her though. And she covers her own bashfulness in the moment, chewing then the suggestion via tease. "So," he says, on the heels of her tease by a few moments, "Does that earn a second one?" His voice is a little warbly, but he goes out on that limb. Cause her father her, her lunch might be over before they know it, and no tour of the school even, who knows. Changed the odds, him being here, even if with a friend and not realizing his daughter is eating her too right now. <English>

*

To be fair it was an accident, but Brie handles it fairly well. For her. A smile is given as he gets brave and does ask her for a second date. Meaning he did see it as a first! That was pretty cool to her and instead of her usual flippant answer she gives him an honest look. "You never had to earn one, just had to ask." Lifting her shake and takes a drink before removing the lid and reaching for a fry. Apparently she really had liked it dipped and she dips another one. "Are we really going swimming on it?" <English>

*

"I don't know," he says, not even thinking she would say yes, and here, she has. Unexpected turn of events, he considers it, "If its not a preference, we can find something else to do?" He's open to suggestions too, its a two person deal, a second date after all. "Unless, do you like surprises, I could pick something?" There's lots of things he'd like to do on Titan, but its limited to his limited resources, he's still under the roof of his parents, so probably has less of those as allotments go to living for his family unit somehow. "I'm okay at swimming, mostly at the beach on warm days, but I'm curious about this place you talked about." <English>

*

His lack of an answer as o what to do has her realizing it was definitely not something he had planned out in advance. It was even better that way. "I like surprises. Find some free things to do and we'll do it. There's a lot of free things, even just sitting in the square and people watching, pretending to live other peoples lives. Or musing about the lives of others too. Or just taking walks and stuff." Lots of things. "I am also good at swimming, except I always try and control the water." <English>

*

"If you got it, use it," or flaunt it, or both. Davor is good with that, "Both then. I show you mine, you show me yours." He sounds sure of that put amends, "Powers, we can meet up in the Commons, I can show you my drone, then someplace for swimming." A little mix of that all, or whatever comes up. Just to have it sort of decided at least, "You can show me this people watching and pretending what their lives are like. I've never tried that before." Smart, but imagination may be a new exploration for him, or more imagination at least; which could be a good skill for an Adroit to develop if they are lacking. <English>

*

With the plans made and the food being eaten, Brienna smiles. "We can meet in the commons either tonight or tomorrow and we can watch you use your drone," she agrees. "Then the pool. It'll be so super fun." Already anticipating it, she's agreeable. The fries are left aside while she concentrates on the sandwich and all. Her father never does see her and she remains content with the first date aspect of the meal. "I should be going soon, but I had a really super good time." <English>

*

"I'll call you?" He ponders and nods, Davor takes to eating his food too. "Yeah, I had an unexpected good time. You're fun." Honest, even if a curious comment, he's just telling it like it is in his world. <English>
