Capital: Numatropolis
Element: Air and Weather
Population: Jupiter: 8.75 billion. Numatropolis: 7.8 million.
Status: Untouched by Curse

Being the only planet without a definitive hard surfaced core, the majority of the population of the Jupiter system resides on the moons of Ganymede, Callisto, Io and Europa. The is not a complete lack of floating cities in the atmosphere of the planet itself, most of these are reform centers that serve as gas mining facilities over the giant planet itself. Jupiter was chosen early to serve in this capacity due to the atmosphere itself and the likely hood of one easily getting to one of the moons or beyond.

Most cities on the gas giant are in the northern or southern bands as that nearest the central equator and the southern bands over near the Red Eye are turbulent on even the best of days. Despite this, there has been attempts to navigate directly into the eye itself but to no success. At least not with empirical evidence. Rumors persist that at its center, there is a floating Isle in that Red Eye that is a paradise, with its own breathable atmosphere. Further still, it is somehow connected to the Bermuda Triangle on earth.

The capital of the Jupiter System is Numatropolis, a large city on her moon, Ganymede. This is one of the primary locations of military engineering, most capital ships are built here along with components for the various floating space stations around the other planetary systems. As such, there is a heavy presence of [[[military:sfc| Space Force Command in the Jupiter system. Some argue this is to keep civil watch over the reform cities of Jupiter itself, which many simply refer to as the prison planet not accepting that the reform system is truly what it claims to be. Then again, many others argue that is just conspiracy theory.

Cities of Jupiter

Numatropolis is the capital of the Jupiter System, located on Ganymede. The largest city in the system.

New Lycaon is located on Callisto and has a large military presence, each branch of service has a major base in the cyt of New Lycaon.

Agropolis is a traditional city, an early TerGen city among the outer giant planets. Exposed to the open air, it utilizes large mushroom TerGen generators, part of which converts the noxious snowfall natural on Io into breathable atmosphere, including frequent rainfall over Agropolis.

New Astarte is the administrative center of the moon Europa. Like most Europa cities, it is a domed underwater city closer to the natural surface of the planet. It has a twin city, separated by a deep abyss, known as Sidon.

New Orion arose on Ganymede in more recent centuries and is a technological marvel on the moon itself. Due to its newer technology, much of the migration to Ganymede centers on the city of New Orion. The population of this city is beginning to rival Numatropolis.

Moons of Jupiter

As the biggest moon in the solar system, Ganymede was targeted early on for TerGen. Ganymede is also the home to the largest percentage of the population of the Jupiter system at nearly 60 percent of Jupiterians. As homage to the idea of cities of old existing on the moon, its center of civilizations is the Memphis Facula crater, which is where Numatropilis is located as well.

While not the first moon of Jupiter to start being truly colonized, Callisto has long held a planet side base for Space Force Command that served as a fueling station during early exploration. Likewise a reduction in frozen material destined for the TerGen process of other planets and moons has made Callisto one of the next potential full scale terraforming projects. Slow work continues to fully adapt Mars and the moon Ganymede, Callisto is currently seeing a rise in population as colonization continues.

One of the few moons among the outer planets with a solid natural surface, Io took longer to colonize due to proximity to Jupiter. Because of that proximity there are relatively few, if any, craters on the surface of Io, leaving it more to the natural beauty of its rocky structure, combined with its abundance of iron. Its surface is naturally colorful, if tinted by the stain of iron, due in part to the sulfur dioxide frost that regular forms at night and falls during the day. The cities of Io retain the older mushroom pillars for geothermal venting as they as well have atmospheric converter to deal with the sulfur dioxide snowfall that rains daily onto the cities of Io
